Description
The 35-year-old Suntory Whisky Hibiki is sealed in a six-sided Western-style liquor bottle with a light ink and floral design, specially designed by Imaemon XIII. Colorful porcelain has enriched the lives of Japanese people, and Iro Nabeshima in particular has always been highly regarded and loved as a work of art, as it is the culmination of the refined techniques of master craftsmen throughout history. In particular, Living National Treasure Imaizumi Imaemon XIII is renowned as a contemporary artist of elegant Iro Nabeshima ware, and his works have won numerous international awards. The name "Colored Enamel with Light Ink Grass and Flower Design Western Sake Bottle" follows the naming method used in the tradition of Arita porcelain, and has the following meaning: Colored painting This refers to the application of the unique Iro Nabeshima painting technique using overglaze pigments such as red, yellow, and green. Light ink This indicates that the underglaze painting technique used was a light ink spraying technique that was unique to the 13th generation Imaemon. This is the name of the main design. It is a floral design based on the design of Middle Eastern chintz, with the red and green overlay patterns standing out against a light ink background. Western liquor bottle The final word indicates the shape of the work (container), such as plate, bowl, pot, or vase, but Imaemon XIII used the expression "Western liquor bottle" to indicate that this bottle was for whiskey.
